Instructions to Download GIS Data Files

GIS data files and supporting documentation have been zipped into a self-extracting executable file GIS_public.exe. The file can be downloaded from http://pdata.hcad.org/GIS/GIS_public.exe. We recommend saving the file to your computer, rather than running it from the location. The file takes about 2-4 hours to download depending on your Internet connection. Once the file is downloaded, extract the files following the instructions given below.

1. Double click GIS_public.exe file.

2. The following WinZip Self-Extractor window will appear.

• Select “Browse” to unzip files to the location you prefer.
• Click “Unzip.”
• A message box will appear when files have successfully been unzipped. Click “OK.”

• Click “Close” on the Winzip Self-extractor window.

3. Navigate to the location of the data files. The README.txt file explains more about the GIS data files and instructions on how to use them.
